Russia successfully test-fired a ‘unique’ missile

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, this is the first test launch in a series of necessary tests before the Russian strategic forces receive the new weapon.

The RS-28 Sarmat missile flew through Russia before landing at a test site in the country’s Far East.

“The warhead landed in the designated area at the Kuran training ground in the Kamchatka peninsula,” announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, RS-28 Sarmat is “The most powerful missile with the longest target-killing range in the world, will significantly increase the combat power of our strategic nuclear force.”

The RS-28 Sarmat missile is a strategic weapon that President Vladimir Putin once stated that no other country has a similar weapon.

In a televised address, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the test an event of great significance for the country, and congratulated the military on the successful launch.

He stressed that this type of weapon will strengthen the capabilities of the Russian armed forces and reliably ensure the security of Russia from external threats. According to him, this new generation missile is capable of overcoming all modern missile defense systems of the enemy.

“The new system has leading technical and tactical characteristics, capable of penetrating any modern missile defense system. There is no missile in the world that possesses this missile and there will be no missile. same for a long time”, Putin said.

Tests of the new missile are expected to be completed by the end of the year. After that, the RS-28 Sarmat missile will be officially commissioned and the first rounds will be provided to the country’s strategic missile force.

The strategic missile is expected to replace the R-36M/R-36M2 Voevoda intercontinental ballistic missile. Compared to its predecessor, the Sarmat missile can carry more weapons and is equipped with new warheads.
