Ms. Yin first met Ms. Huang Junping (51 years old) in 2014 when they became neighbors in Yichang city in Hubei province, China.

Sharing with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Ms. Yin recalled at that time, she had just lost her son (3 years old) to a drowning.

Ms. Yin became close to Mrs. Huang and the two quickly became close friends as they often talked to ease their sadness. What Ms. Yin did not expect was that Ms. Huang would later become her mother-in-law.

In 2015, Ms. Yin gave birth to a daughter, and Ms. Huang helped her close friend take care of the baby.

But the unfortunate thing continued to happen to Ms. Yin. Accordingly, she was unfortunately paralyzed from the waist down after being hit by a broken tree branch in 2016. Ms. Yin was sent to her mother’s house for convenient care, while her husband and young daughter stayed at home. . After the accident, her husband Yin wanted a divorce, but she refused. But after more than three years without seeing each other, Ms. Yin decided to sign the divorce papers. At this time, her husband is responsible for raising the daughter.

Recalling the incident, Ms. Yin said that her ex-husband asked for a divorce just a year after she had an accident leading to paralysis. However, she firmly refused because she wanted the whole family to be together. But in 2020, she gave up after more than 3 years of not living together.

Immediately after hearing the news of Ms. Yin’s divorce, Mrs. Huang was extremely worried and asked her 30-year-old son, Zhao Yingfeng, who is currently 30 years old but does not have a girlfriend, to take Ms. Yin out to play to relieve her mind.

Ms. Huang believes that Ms. Yin’s outgoing personality will make up for her son’s shyness and timidity. Although they are neighbours, before being introduced by Ms. Huang, Ms. Yin and Mr. Zhao had never met each other. The reason is because Mr. Zhao has left home to work since he was 18 years old.

Ms. Yin contacted Mr. Zhao in December 2020. At first, Ms. Yin thought that when she told him what had happened to her, Mr. Zhao would be afraid to go ahead and find out.

“I can’t control myself, I can get my sheets and clothes dirty at any time, I might not be able to have children anymore. Do you accept this?” Ms. Yin recalled the question she asked Mr. Zhao.

But instead of disappointment as Ms. Yin thought, Mr. Zhao offered a solution to solve the situation.

“I talked to my parents and they don’t care if you can have a baby or not. If your sheets and clothes get dirty, I’ll change and wash them for you, it’s not a big deal,” replied Mr. Zhao.

“Mrs. Huang showed Zhao my videos on Douyin and within 2 days, he watched almost 200 videos. He said he had a crush on me since then,” Ms. Yin said.

After Ms. Yin fell from her wheelchair and broke several bones in 2021, she could do nothing but lie motionless in bed. But Mr. Zhao took full responsibility for Ms. Yin’s care including trimming her nails and washing her hair.

“From here on I have truly accepted Mr. Zhao as my future husband,” Ms. Yin said.

After Ms. Yin recovered, the two went to register their marriage in October 2021 to officially become husband and wife. The couple will welcome their first child in the next 2 months.

Ms. Yin said she is now extremely excited to welcome the baby, but Mr. Zhao seems to be more concerned about his wife’s health.

“He used to say to me, ‘If it’s just the two of us in the world, I’ll take care of you until we’re both old, I’m a few years younger than you, so I can still take good care of you'” , Ms. Yin repeated her husband’s words.
