According to many residents, the fire happened at midnight, which took them by surprise, but when they heard the call to put out the fire, everyone quickly rushed to the scene to help them.

A witness said, around 00:30 on April 21, suddenly hearing the voice of Mr. Lam and his son standing on the roof calling for help, people quickly ran to the rescue.
They brought water and wet towels to the scene to give to the victims. When he was rescued from the fire site, Mr. Lam burned his limbs but still asked: “Can you save my house?”.
People lied to Mr. Lam, saying that “all can be saved, just get in the ambulance” so that he can go to the emergency room with peace of mind.
Another witness, Mrs. Dam Thi Thanh (neighbor) said that while she was sleeping, she heard loud noises and screams for firefighting. At that time, she and her children ran out and discovered that Mrs. Man’s house was on fire, and the smoke was rising.

Another person who was also present at the scene when the fire broke out, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son (SN 1985, Kim Lien ward) also sadly said that this was the first time he witnessed such a tragic fire.
According to Mr. Son, when they heard the screams, everyone went to the rescue, but before the fire was too big, the door of the house was locked, so they shouted for people in the house to jump to the neighbor’s roof to escape.
According to local people, Ms. Manh’s family has 2 sons, Mr. Bui Ngoc Lam and Bui Ngoc Khanh.
Her family’s situation was difficult, since the day her husband died, she lived with her children in the house. Ms. Man sells water to earn extra living expenses.
“The family is poor, she accepts whatever she gives and sells junk to earn extra income. We are sad because we can’t do anything, the fire burns” – a neighbor shared.
At the scene, talking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Quang Son, Vice Chairman of Kim Lien ward (Dong Da district) said that functional forces are urgently investigating the cause of the fire. Mass organizations visited and encouraged the victims’ families before the heartbreaking incident.
