Cuban book fair opens after two years of pandemic

This is one of the largest cultural events in Cuba aimed at promoting reading culture in the country.

The opening ceremony attracted about 1,000 domestic and foreign guests who are readers, writers, editors, distributors and experts in the publishing industry.

Mexico is the guest of honor at this year’s Book Fair, which sent a delegation led by Culture Minister Alejandra Frausto, along with writers, musicians and artists to visit Cuba, and sent more than 30 thousand books for this event.

The book fair will take place until the end of April 30 in the capital, Havana, and then be held on a smaller scale in other localities in Cuba.
