Da Nang gives Covid-19 vaccine to children aged 5-11 years old

Today, Oncology Hospital (Lien Chieu District) and Tien Son Sports Palace (Hai Chau District) are the first two sites to administer the Moderna vaccine to more than 500 6th grade students.

From 7:30 a.m., parents take students to the injection site. Classroom teachers are also arranged to accompany children to guide children throughout the immunization process.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (Hai Chau district), parents of students, said that the whole family got up very early to advise and prepare food for their children before vaccination.

Doctor Tran Minh Hoi, Head of the Department of Disease Control and HIV/AIDS, Hai Chau District Health Center, said that this time, 2,100 children aged 5 to 11 years old in the district will be vaccinated against Covid-19. .

“Because of their young age, their minds are still confused, so the unit has coordinated with the school to do ideological work for them. In addition, the issue of monitoring and post-injection treatment is also of particular concern, the unit has prepared emergency vehicles, personnel, and equipment to prevent bad situations from happening,” said Dr. information.

The first phase of vaccination for children from 5 to 11 years old in Da Nang took place from April 22 to 27. The vaccine used in this batch is Moderna with 10,300 doses of 0.25ml. The organization of vaccination is carried out in the form of a rolling slide from large to small ages. The health sector has arranged 45 injection points at 8 locations, under the responsibility of 7 district health centers and Da Nang Obstetrics – Pediatrics Hospital.
