Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education proposes to self-compose high school graduation exam

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just proposed to the Ministry of Education and Training to assign Ho Chi Minh City a specific mechanism to implement the new general education program. The City People’s Committee will take full responsibility for all stages of exam organization and recognition high school graduation locally.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City proposed to build the graduation exam by itself according to the regulations, ensuring the structure and format of the Ministry of Education and Training. This is the third time that Ho Chi Minh City continues to propose to the Ministry of Education and Training to empower provinces and cities to self-check, evaluate and recognize high school graduation. After that, the Ministry will periodically organize and evaluate the quality of education in localities.

Currently, according to regulations, the Provincial People’s Committee will take full responsibility for directing the organization graduation exams locally. However, the exam questions and exam schedule are currently chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training and are uniform across the country.
