Mekong Delta tourism to find a breakthrough

During the post-Covid-19 tourism recovery period, many tourism operators here are still confused by market changes, or need support resources after going through a long period of operation. moderate, lack of resources in terms of capital, labor…

In order to solve the problem of recovery and enhance the competitiveness of these businesses, the Workshop “Tourism in the Mekong Delta: An opportunity to make a breakthrough” will take place at 2pm at Vinpearl Hotel Can Tho. Interested readers can also register online on the Zoom platform.

According to the Organizing Committee, the event is an opportunity for interested businesses to raise problems and have a dialogue with representatives of relevant ministries, sectors and units to find new directions for tourism in the region. From there, the parties promote the connection of travel business networks, optimize resources, exploit tourism strengths of localities and propose solutions to develop the regional tourism industry.

The workshop had the participation of representatives of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Representatives of VCCI Can Tho, associations and businesses of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. Besides, there are domestic and international experts, leading in the field.

Regional linkage, chain linkage to synergize to develop “specialty” tourism products in each place, upgrading transport infrastructure is one of the important solutions to raise the level of regional tourism. The development orientation towards linking with Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces will be shared by the representative of the National Administration of Tourism, and at the same time listened to opinions from businesses from many different regions.

Tourism experts will analyze the potential and prospects of investment in developing regional tourism, products that can become trends in order to advise and orient tourism units to find directions after the pandemic.

Participating businesses will also have the opportunity to access and be guided to use Google tools, features to support the analysis of tourist destinations, to serve the operation process.

From analyzing tourism characteristics of the Mekong Delta, experts will also assess the opportunities of private enterprises, especially trends in sustainable tourism or digital transformation. The parties will work together to dialogue and find a solution to create a tourism ecosystem in the region, diversify tourism products, effectively transform digitally or expand markets, and improve the quality of human resources.

The seminar “Tourism in the Mekong Delta: An opportunity to make a breakthrough” was chaired by Leaders of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, US Agency for International Development (USAID), IPSC Project . Within the framework of the event, businesses will also be introduced and participate IPSC . IPSC aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Vietnam’s small and growing businesses by providing a variety of support packages.
