The number of candidates increased “suddenly”

The 14th year national final of the Violympic includes 3 morning and 3 afternoon exams, including backup cases. The system recorded 64,569 students taking the exam, 350% more than the 2020-2021 school year. This is the total number of candidates from more than 500 exam boards in 49 provinces and cities across the country.

According to the Organizing Committee, the number of contestants increased significantly due to two main reasons. First of all, it is necessary to mention the decision of the Organizing Committee to expand the scope to blocks with a larger number of candidates in Vietnamese Math.

Specifically, instead of only blocks 5, 9, 12 as in previous years, the National Violympic final this school year has additional blocks of 2, 3, 4 and removed block 12. Besides, this also confirms the need to study. Students’ practice and competition through prestigious online playgrounds has increased dramatically after two years of hiatus from traditional learning due to the epidemic.

The Math and Physics Prize Competition via the Internet Violympic has been launched by FPT Corporation since 2009.

Hanoi, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Dak Lak… continue to lead in the number of contestants. In particular, in the school year 2021 – 2022, the provinces of Quang Ngai, Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang also restarted the Violympic playground after a hiatus.

To register in the final round, students must complete 9 rounds of previous levels, and at the same time achieve the scores and criteria specified in each exam cluster. Exam accounts must be registered and approved by the exam board.

From the 2020-2021 school year, the National Competition round has been held in parallel with two forms of face-to-face or online, depending on the conditions of each exam board.

The registration board to organize the online exam must be approved by the National Organizing Committee. Students taking the online exam are required to have 2 monitoring devices with microphone enabled, one that clearly captures the student’s face, the other at an angle to make the student’s test-taking process transparent.

Changes

In order to ensure the quality of the competition while the number of contestants is increasing, every year Violympic always strives to bring out new improvements in terms of systems, technology and knowledge. In the school year 2021 – 2022, Violympic focuses on adjusting and upgrading to increase the security and service capacity of the system.

Specifically for users in general, Violympic has updated and reopened the function of automatically resetting account passwords. For teachers, the system has upgraded the account authentication function to increase security in the management of exam codes and exams.

With the exam boards, Violympic upgraded the function of creating a combination of exam questions for the round of competitions at all levels and the exam review function for candidates registered to participate in the National round.

Violympic also continues to improve the service capacity of the system to ensure stability and smoothness, and optimize many management functions for the management board. These adjustments have shortened waiting times, increased support efficiency for students and Violympic administrators, and improved user experience on the system.

Regarding the awards, the National Violympic Organizing Committee has made some adjustments in the rules, the structure of the final prizes this year is calculated by number instead of the percentage of contestants participating in the competition. Accordingly, the number of awards in the National round is assigned to the top 1,100 students in each primary school; The top 600 students in each middle school block and the top 110 students in the high school block.

The organizers will issue online certificates of Gold, Silver, Bronze, Encouragement to students in the top 100 rounds at school, district and provincial and city levels.
