Specifically, Singapore will remove regulations limiting the size of gatherings, allow all people to return to work, and lower the epidemic alert level (Dorscon) for the first time since the pandemic began.

The Dorscon epidemic alert level is a code frame consisting of 4 colors Blue, Yellow, Orange and Red, indicating the current epidemic situation in Singapore. Authorities use this to guide people on what to do to prevent the epidemic.

According to the newspaper Straits Times, after April 26, Singapore’s warning level will change from orange to yellow. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung called this an important milestone in Singapore’s anti-epidemic journey.

People also do not need to use the SafeEntry and TraceTogether tracing apps in most public places, except for events with more than 500 participants, nightlife establishments and food outlets.

Travelers who are fully vaccinated upon arrival in Singapore are not required to undergo pre-departure testing.

“With the changes, it’s now much easier for us to breathe after two difficult years of fighting the virus,” said Finance Minister Lawrence Wong. “But always remember that while we are close to the finish line, the race is not over and the pandemic is certainly not over.”

A few epidemic prevention measures are still maintained, such as mandatory wearing of masks at home in public places and on public transport.

Singapore has vaccinated 93% of its 5.5 million population, one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.
