Singer Tom Grennan injured, robbed in ‘unprovoked attack’ outside NYC bar, manager says

British singer Tom Grennan has been hospitalized following an “unprovoked assault and robbery” outside a New York City bar following a show this week, his manager has said.

Grennan allegedly assaulted “early morning” Thursday “outside a bar in Manhattan” after a performance Wednesday night at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattanmanager, John Dawkins, said in a declare Thursday evening.

Dawkins said: ‘Tom is currently in hospital to be assessed by doctors for his injuries, which include a broken ear, a torn earlobe and a problem with his previously fractured jawbone.

It is not clear which bar the attack is believed to have taken place at.

The New York City Police Department told NBC News early Friday that it was not aware of an attack involving Grennan.

“There are no reports with that name on file,” the department said.

Earlier, on Thursday, images of Grennan’s stop in New York City were shared on his official Twitter account. The photos were accompanied by the caption: “The big apple you have so much is magic.”
