Recently, the delegations have registered the number of athletes (athletes) participating in sports at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games.

However, when the competition date was less than a month away, the delegations continuously had personnel changes.

Recently, after the Indonesian women’s handball team dropped out, the 31st SEA Games Organizing Committee had to remove this subject from the list of competitions because there were not enough countries registered under the rules.

Therefore, the Vietnamese sports delegation also had to remove the names of 13 female handball players from the initial registration list.

After reviewing, reviewing and supplementing, the Vietnamese sports delegation is expected to have no more than 1372 members to attend the 31st SEA Games.

On April 20, the Thai delegation closed 892 athletes with the Organizing Committee of the Games. Before that, the preliminary list of Thailand was 1322 athletes.

Similarly, Malaysia registered 654 athletes (435 men, 219 women) but is now reduced to 591 members (361 men, 230 women). Indonesia from 541 athletes (367 men, 174 women) to 508 athletes (315 men, 193 women).

Cambodia reduced to 351 athletes (229 men, 122 women), before that 504 athletes. Myanmar from 352 athletes down to 305 athletes (189 men, 116 women). Brunei closed 23 athletes (17 men, 6 women), 1 less than the previous registration of 1 male athlete. Laos previously registered 363 athletes (234 men, 129 women), now there are 291 athletes (213 men, 78 women).

The only country registered to increase the number of athletes is Singapore. Initially, the lion island nation had 474 athletes (305 men, 169 women), now increased to 485 athletes (309 men, 176 women).

The East Timor sports delegation with the Philippines still maintains the same number of members with 69 athletes (60 men, 9 women) and 643 athletes (381 men, 262 women), respectively.

The 31st SEA Games Organizing Committee will hold an Affirmation Conference from May 1 to May 6 to finalize all issues related to the organization.
