The whole country added 11,160 cases of Covid-19

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 8,015 cases in the community in 59 provinces and cities. The provinces and cities with the highest number of cases include: Hanoi (980), Phu Tho (761), Bac Giang (539), Quang Ninh (510).

The remaining cases were recorded in Nghe An (489), Vinh Phuc (458), Yen Bai (452), Lao Cai (389), Hai Duong (373), Bac Kan (357), Tuyen Quang (352) , Dak Lak (346), Thai Nguyen (309), Gia Lai (304), Son La (273), Thai Binh (255), Nam Dinh (225), Quang Binh (222), Hung Yen (220), Cao Bang (210), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (197), Lam Dong (194), Lang Son (189), Bac Ninh (176), Ninh Binh (169), Ha Giang (169), Hoa Binh (160), Ha Tinh (147), Ha Nam (137), Dien Bien (130), Da Nang (126), Lai Chau (108), Binh Dinh (102)…

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 10,544,324 infections, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories. In the fourth wave of the epidemic, the number of infections recorded in the country was 10,536,576, of which 9,076,448 patients were declared cured.

The localities with the number of cases in this epidemic include Hanoi (1,537,814), Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City (607,793), Nghe An (478,198), Binh Duong (383,101), Bac Giang (382,069).

Regarding treatment, during the day, 2,338 patients were announced to be cured, bringing the total number of cured cases to 9,079,265 cases. The number of patients on oxygen is 822.

On April 22, the whole country had 7 deaths from Covid-19, in Dong Nai (2), Phu Tho (2), Ben Tre (1), Ha Tinh (1) and Kon Tum (1).

The average number of deaths in the past 7 days is 11 cases. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam so far is 42,998, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths in our country ranks 24 out of 227 territories. Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranked 6/49 (3rd in ASEAN).

From April 27, 2021 to now, our country has tested 39,478,512 samples, equivalent to 85,776,230 turns of people, an increase of 2,525 samples compared to the previous day.

Regarding vaccination, on April 21, 723,940 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 211,284,125 doses. In which, the number of injections for people aged 18 years and over is 193,736,289 doses. The number of doses for children 12-17 years old is 17,315,269 doses. The number of doses for children from 5-11 years old is 232,567 doses (1st dose).

The Ministry of Health further informed that the ministry is preparing a backup draft of a plan to ensure medical work to cope with Covid-19 epidemic situations in 2022-2023.

Today, the Ministry continues to direct localities to inject the second dose for children aged 12-18 in April; complete the 2nd injection for children from 5 to under 12 years old in the 2nd quarter and develop a plan for the 4th injection for those who need it.
