The 47-year-old woman had no choice but to jump out of a window after a fire broke out in her building around 10 a.m. Saturday in the town of Cedeira, Galicia.
Taxi driver Atonio Rey, who witnessed the event, told regional newspaper La Voz de Galicia: “Half of her body was suspended out of the window and covered with smoke so people were mostly can not see”.

Several of the building’s residents, including the woman’s husband, waited below and grabbed a bed sheet.
Fortunately, the woman successfully landed and only suffered minor scratches on the skin.
Fire crews later arrived and said the fire started in a fuse box located at the entrance and caused thick smoke to rise across the floors.
Francisco Bellas, a firefighter and grandson of one of the building’s residents, said: ‘Her husband went out to walk the dog and when he returned to find the house on fire, he screamed. and said that his wife was still sleeping in the house.
The fire brigade directly commended neighbors but advised people not to repeat the woman’s actions and instead recommended waiting for the fire brigade to arrive on the scene.
