The nationwide e-invoice system has been officially activated. The goal is to cover e-invoices nationwide by July 1, contributing to creating a fair, transparent and favorable business environment.

Previously, from November to March 31, the Ministry of Finance successfully deployed phase 1 e-invoices in 6 provinces and cities including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Phu Tho, and Quang Ninh. and Binh Dinh. In phase 1, on the peak day, the electronic invoice system processes about 1.7 million transactions in 1 minute, it only takes about 0.01 seconds for 1 transaction to issue the e-invoice code.

As a result of phase 1 implementation, as of March 31, 2022, nearly 442,000 businesses and over 20,600 business households have converted to using electronic invoices. The number of invoices the tax authority has received and processed is over 58 million invoices.

The implementation process of phase 1 shows that, in addition to actively and rapidly deploying to each locality in a short time, the simplification of e-invoice solution software, transmission and reception solutions or integration Conformity is essential for easy access by users.

“It is recommended that Vietnam build an e-invoice system that can quickly issue codes and ensure the fastest data transmission to tax authorities. Tax authorities need to organize propaganda and dissemination to suppliers. Services as well as taxpayers understand the standard format of invoice data to help reduce errors in the electronic invoicing process,” said Virginia Foote, Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham).

Need to prepare information technology resources

In phase 2, e-invoices will be deployed in 57 localities. At the event to activate the National Electronic Invoice System, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: It is difficult for anything new. The Prime Minister requested to strengthen the close and effective coordination between the Ministry of Finance, the Tax sector and other ministries, branches, localities and enterprises; fully prepare resources, especially information technology resources to deploy with a large number of enterprises, spread across the country.

Thai Nguyen is a mountainous province, traffic is difficult, taxpayers are mainly small and medium enterprises. Overcoming these unfavorable conditions, since the end of last year, the Provincial Tax Department has actively followed Circular 32 so that tax officials and taxpayers gradually become familiar with electronic invoices.

In addition to training and equipping tax staff with knowledge, each Tax Department also actively cooperates with organizations providing e-invoice services to prepare solutions and information technology infrastructure to meet regulations. provision of e-invoice services to customers.

In the near future, the tax sector’s e-invoice service will be connected to the National Population Database through the National Public Service Portal. This is an important step in the process of electronic connection between the tax sector and other ministries and branches so that people and businesses can easily access and facilitate tax administrative procedures.

“This is the first e-invoice platform that provides tax data. This data will connect with other ministries such as data on land, business registration, population. When big data is available, apply artificial intelligence to analyze data, manage taxes more closely to prevent tax evasion and tax profiteering,” said Ho Duc Phuc, Minister of Finance.
