Tied woman rushes out of 8th floor apartment containing “ghost gun”

The US Metropolitan Police Department said there was a conflict between the gunman and the woman in the apartment on the 8th floor in Northwest Washington DC on April 21 (US time).

According to information from NBC channelthe gunman tied both hands and feet of the woman.

“The victim partially freed herself and jumped from the building with her legs still tied,” the police department said in a Twitter post. The suspect also fled the scene after the woman threw herself through the window.

In the apartment where the incident took place, police recovered a rifle-style “ghost gun”.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is fighting for his life, according to NBC channel.

Also in Washington DC on April 22 (US time) there was another shooting that injured 4 victims, the suspect committed suicide when police broke into the apartment on the 5th floor where he entrenched.

Three victims were taken to hospital, including a 54-year-old man and a woman in her 30s with serious injuries, and a 12-year-old girl with an arm injury. The fourth victim, a 60-year-old woman, was given first aid at the scene for minor injuries.

Police say 23-year-old Raymond Spencer was identified from a video he posted on social media with the caption “school shooting”, which shows the shooting being carried out from the window of a high-rise apartment floor.

Associated Reuters Citing police chief Robert Contee, the suspect fired at least 20 bullets. Police still do not know the motive for the shooting.

The consecutive incidents come just over a week after US President Joe Biden vowed to crack down on “ghost guns” in the country.

A “ghost gun” is a firearm that cannot be traced, has no serial number, is privately manufactured, and is not supervised.

According to a White House report, US law enforcement seized about 20,000 “ghost guns” in 2021, 10 times more than in 2016.
