According to the newspaper Washington Post, Washington DC police say Wynn Bruce, 50, of Boulder, Colorado, died on April 23, a day after setting himself on fire before the Supreme Court in the US capital.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on April 22. Patricia McCabe, a spokeswoman for the supreme court, said:The man entered the square in front of the Supreme Court and lit a fire Self-immolation.

A helicopter then landed on the square to take Bruce to the hospital. However, this person did not survive due to severe burns.

A court spokesman said the square in front of the supreme court would be closed until April 23 (local time) to conduct an investigation.

On April 20, the US Congress had to evacuate all staff and visitors to the Capitol building and surrounding works. after police discovered a plane believed to be a “potential threat” appeared in the no-fly zone of Washington D.C. However, the police later determined there was no danger.

Police said the plane was a military aircraft carrying members of the US Army’s Golden Knights parachute team.

This group has a schedule to perform at the baseball stadium of the Washington Nationals club, about 2.5km from Capitol Hill (US Capitol building).
