Airfare for the holiday April 30-1/5: High but within the price bracket

Only 1 week left until the holiday April 30 – May 1. The number of tickets booked and ticket prices both increased. And airlines have continuously asked to increase the frequency of domestic flights, but fares have not been reduced.

Hanoi – Phu Quoc is the “most expensive” flight route during the holiday. Going on April 30, passengers have to pay from 3 to 6 million VND to get a ticket. Fares are high, but airlines face an imbalance between incoming and outgoing flights.

“Flights flying to Phu Quoc on holidays are full of passengers, but from Phu Quoc there are almost no guests, after the holidays it’s the other way around,” said Do Xuan Quang, Vice President of Vietjet Air.

Travel agencies have planned with airlines for peak occasions very early, because Airfares usually up to 40% of the tour price.

Airlines such as Vietnam Airlines Group and Bamboo Airways have increased by 15-20% in providing domestic loads, focusing on main routes.

Vietjet Air will also provide more than 500,000 seats on the occasion of April 30 – May 1. The new airline Vietravel Air also opened more routes from Hanoi to tourist destinations in the country. Many airlines continue to ask for more flight slots during this peak season.

“Airfare prices change according to the law of market supply and demand. I confirm that all airlines currently sell tickets within the price bracket,” said Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.

The aviation industry is receiving positive signals so that it can recover quickly after the “freezing” period because of the epidemic. However, the difficulty arising at this time is that the rising fuel costs will also “pull” firms in the recovery as before the epidemic.
