Just moved in with a German guy, Vietnamese single mother was tested

Having been a single mother for many years, Duong Loan (33 years old, originally from An Giang) suddenly met his brother Michael (43 years old, German nationality, currently working as a project manager). Together they share life and build happiness in a house filled with love.

At the age of 19, when friends of the same age were focusing on studying with many future plans, Loan decided to become a single mother. In 2011, Loan and Michael met each other in a bar in Ho Chi Minh City. At that time, Michael was a fresh graduate and had just broken up with his girlfriend because he had been ripped off all his money.

The first time they met, neither of them talked to anyone, it wasn’t until the second time when they happened to meet each other on Bui Vien Street that the couple started a conversation.

Talking with a strange man, Loan has no guilt because she is a single mother. She confidently shared openly about her private life, thinking that he would suddenly change his attitude and no longer want to be friends, but when he learned about the past, he understood and loved her even more.

Having known each other for about a week, both felt like they liked each other, but Michael did not dare to say it, and Loan was quite straightforward, so he told his feelings to the other party. After listening to Michael, he asked: “So will you come home with me?”, hesitated for a while, Loan agreed to learn and move in with the foreign guy.

“At that time, I felt the need to have a proper family, so I agreed to share a house with Michael. On the other hand, I was moved by his appearance as well as his personality. Although he has never been married, Michael is very psychological and understands about married life. When I saw the way he took care of and cared for my own son, I fell in love even more. In order to facilitate our child’s study, the two of us sent the baby to my mother’s care, even though we are not close to each other, he still cares about her constantly. Witnessing Michael’s love for his son, I feel secure and really appreciate his feelings,” Loan said.

On Michael’s side, he said that as soon as he saw Loan, he knew he was “struck by lightning”. In his mind he thought “I have to marry her”.

When we first moved in together, Michael thought she was like an ex-girlfriend who cheated on money, so he repeatedly tried. Michael left money all over the room and tried many ways to see if his girlfriend would take it but all his tricks failed.

Loan said: “When I heard that he did this to test my heart, I was very sad. I told him that I was taught by my parents not to take things that don’t belong to me. Later, when we trusted each other, Michael gave me the money to keep, but I was afraid that I couldn’t manage the common finances, so I let him keep it all.”

In 2012, Michael changed work, because he didn’t want to be in a long distance relationship, so Loan followed her boyfriend from Vietnam to Thailand. After living for 3 months, Michael had to go to Bangladesh to work. Due to paperwork, she could not go with Michael but had to stay in Thailand.

Before going on a business trip, to make his girlfriend feel secure and believe in true love, Michael went to buy a ring and proposed to her.

After 3 years of dating, in 2014, the two officially got married. They had a wedding in both hometowns with the presence of a large number of friends and family members. Not long after the wedding day, the daughter – the sweet crystallization of a Vietnamese mother and a German father was born.

The girl is now grown up, very cute, smart and alert. It was the appearance of the daughter that helped Loan and his wife understand, appreciate and love each other more. Knowing that his wife used to be a mother, everything raised Michael believes and listens to what his wife says. He always respects and loves his children, treats them equally and without bias.

Getting married, having children, Loan also confidently entered a new life. Currently her small nest is in Zambia (Africa). Despite living together for many years, sometimes she is still afraid that cultural differences will lead to disagreements. Fortunately, everything is easily resolved because Michael is a psychological and understanding person.

Nearly eight years of marriage, experiencing many sad and happy emotions in life, Loan is now living happily with her husband and children. She believes that every husband and wife have disagreements at times, but the two always take time to think and sit down to talk instead of arguing or being silent.
