After the success of Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the Korean corporation shows no sign of wanting to stop, but accelerates the launch of a complete electric vehicle lineup. While Hyundai will welcome the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7 next year, Kia will also introduce its flagship EV9 to global users in the same period.
At the 2022 New York auto show this April, Kia confirmed it will launch the finished Kia EV9 in the “second half of 2022” and then immediately put the car into assembly after that. In terms of design, we already have a concept version released last year of the EV9 with the Telluride facelift or even the previous EV6 to be able to visualize the finished EV9. In particular, both EV6 and Telluride are models that are about to be sold in Vietnam in the near future.
When announcing the EV9 concept, Kia confirmed the car has a range of about 480 – 500 km per charge and supports fast charging technology with 350 kW source. The interior of the car certainly has 3 rows of seats with the number of seats ranging from 6 to 8, in addition, a 2-row 4/5-seat version is also not unexpected.
However, some highlights on the car then most likely will not appear again, such as the 27-inch screen in the dashboard or the square steering wheel.
Kia EV9 is one of 11 electric models of the parent brand that will be on the market in the period before 2026. The price of the car is expected to start at $50,000.
