The number of deaths from COVID-19 in Shanghai increased to 39

After 5 days of consecutive declines in the number of new cases, Shanghai, China yesterday recorded more than 23,000 cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours, an increase of 32% compared to the previous day.

Just yesterday, the number of deaths from COVID-19 in Shanghai reached 39 people, an increase of 12 cases compared to the previous day.

Shanghai is grappling with its biggest-ever COVID-19 outbreak. City officials announced, extending the blockade order until April 26 and further tightening some epidemic prevention measures after failing to meet the goal of “no COVID-19 in the community”.

Meanwhile, China’s National Health Commission said that the capital Beijing recorded 22 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. City health officials consider this to be a dangerous development and need immediate action.
