Accordingly, many people still do not understand about sunscreen or have knowledge but use it in the wrong way. Here are the common mistakes when using sunscreen:

Using sunscreen that is not suitable for your skin

Not all sunscreens are equally effective. Therefore, it is necessary to determine whether the sunscreen is suitable for the skin before use.

For example, if you have sensitive skin but use chemical sunscreens, it is easy to irritate your skin. As for oily or combination skin, if you use sunscreen without ingredients to help control oil, it is easy to clog pores, causing skin to be secreted and acne.

Apply sunscreen only once a day

Dermatologists say that most sunscreens will fade after about 2-3 hours after being applied to the skin. In case of outdoor exercise, sweating a lot, the above time is shortened.

Therefore, applying sunscreen only once a day, while being outdoors for many hours will leave the skin unprotected. The more intense the sun, the higher the risk of skin blistering and sunburn. UVA rays from sunlight can penetrate deep into the dermis, breaking down the skin structure. From there, create age spots, wrinkles and many other signs of aging.

Apply too little sunscreen

Under the harsh sunlight, the amount of sunscreen is too thin will make the protection of the skin less effective against ultraviolet rays. Therefore, dermatologists recommend applying sunscreen according to the recommended dosage. If you go to the beach or work outdoors, you need more ice cream.

Using the wrong sunscreen

According to experts, applying sunscreen in combination with other products such as skin care, moisturizer, foundation… in the wrong process will reduce the effect.

Specifically, the two effects of sunscreen are physical sunscreen, like a layer of skin-covering material, and chemical sunscreen, ie creating chemical interactions to change absorption, metabolism, and absorption. radiation to the skin.

If you apply sunscreen immediately after using other skin care products, it will dilute the cream or change its physical and chemical properties, thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Therefore, if you have applied moisturizer before, you must let the cream have time to absorb into the skin before applying sunscreen. Usually, the time to apply skin care products is at least 15-20 minutes apart.

Use sunscreen after skin care and before makeup. If not taking care of your skin, apply sunscreen directly to your face.

Do not remove makeup after using sunscreen

Many women think that it is not necessary to remove makeup when applying sunscreen, only when it is necessary to wear makeup. This is a mistake. Because the active ingredients in sunscreen, if not removed thoroughly, will accumulate on the skin for a long time, causing clogged pores, the main cause of dull skin, acne, aging. early evolution.

The cleansing makeup remover will remove all excess oil and dirt on the skin, helping the skin to be clean and cool, limiting the risk of acne formation.

Use sunscreen properly:

– Clean skin before applying sunscreen

– Apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before going out in the sun

– After 2-3 hours, use a cotton pad to wipe off the old sunscreen before applying a new layer of sunscreen

– Use sunscreen even on shady or mild sunny days

Experts recommend choosing sunscreen products with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

Along with that, limit going out at times when ultraviolet rays are high, such as from 10 am to 15 pm. If you have to go out at this time, in addition to applying sunscreen, you should combine the use of other sun protection measures such as: Wear long-sleeved clothes, use gloves, wear a mask, wear sunglasses…
