According to the Cambodian Ministry of Health, up to now, 14.88 million people, equivalent to 93% of the total population of 16 million people, have been vaccinated with at least 1 dose of vaccine; 14.14 million people (88% of the population) have received 2 basic injections; about 8.22 million people (51%) received the 3rd dose and 1.36 million people (8.5%) received the 4th dose.
Cambodia has restored all socio-economic activities and opened its borders to vaccinated travelers without quarantine from November 2021.
The Cambodian leader said that, thanks to the effectiveness of vaccination, the country has not recorded any signs of the disease increasing again after welcoming the traditional New Year.
The Khmer New Year took place from April 14 to April 16 with about 4.6 million visitors traveling across the country on this occasion.
On April 24, Cambodia recorded 16 new cases, no additional deaths. Currently, the total number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in this country is 136,216 cases and 3,056 people respectively.
