The decision to add personnel was made by Coach Park today, April 25. Both players also immediately joined forces to practice, because there were only 10 days left to prepare for the tournament at home.

Hai Long was born in 2000, grew up from Quang Ninh Club. After the mining team dissolved, he moved to Hanoi club with a transfer fee of 5.4 billion VND.

Hai Long was called up to participate in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers – Asia region. However, his name was crossed out when Coach Park announced the list of U23 Vietnam to prepare for the 31st SEA Games and this caused many question marks.

After two friendly matches against Korea U20, in addition to two overage midfielders Nguyen Hoang Duc and Do Hung Dung, the remaining players in the midfield did not seem to satisfy Coach Park.

The attack also made the Korean leader worried, when he only scored two goals in the last five matches. That may be the reason why he added striker Le Minh Binh of the People’s Public Security Club.

Teams attending the 31st SEA Games are only allowed to register 20 players. However, according to the new regulations, each team can replace up to 15 people if infected with Covid-19.

There are 10 teams competing in men’s football at the 31st SEA Games. Vietnam is in Group A, meeting Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar and Timor Leste respectively at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).
