Filmed with every video posted on YouTube and also had his ‘pilot’s license confiscated’

Last December, Jacob posted a video in which he showed himself jumping out of an airplane while the plane was still operating. Jacob claims he did so after the plane malfunctioned, and that video has since gone viral and has garnered more than 1.78 million views.

But the FAA disagreed with the explanation from Jacob’s account and alleges that the YouTuber intentionally abandoned the plane and let it crash into the Los Padres National Forest in Southern California with the purpose of creating a viral video. on the Internet.

According to the New York Times, the FAA sent Jacobs a letter on April 11, in which they said he violated federal aviation regulations and operated his single-engine plane under “carelessly or recklessly to endanger the life or property of another”.

There are more than 600 flying communities scattered across the United States, concentrated mainly in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Texas and Washington.

In the video, Jacob can be heard saying a series of obscenities as the propeller stops spinning. He then opened the left door and jumped out with a parachute and dropped the plane in midair. In the process, Jacob holds a selfie stick to film his journey. Apparently there were many other cameras on the plane: at least two were externally mounted on the wing and the camera was in his hand, which would lead to the assumption that the entire flight was designed, well planned. to record videos and provide a lot of beautiful angles.

There are a number of actions that Jacob takes that are the opposite of how a responsible pilot would act if an aircraft were to malfunction. The FAA found Jacob had opened the pilot’s left door before he declared an engine failure and made no attempt to contact air traffic control on the emergency channel. Nor did he attempt to restart the engine nor search for an emergency landing site, even though there were many within range of the plane. Accordingly, the FAA revoked Jacob’s pilot’s license.

When speaking to the Times, Jacob appeared to be oblivious to the FAA’s ruling.
