HIU welcomes Indian students to study medicine

Ho Chi Minh CityHong Bang International University (HIU) welcomes Indian students who have been matriculated in the field of Medicine to enroll on April 22.

This is also the first group of Indian international students to study this field at HIU. The university representative said that the event marked the maturity of the unit’s prestige and medical training level.

Attending the welcoming ceremony for Indian students, Vietnamese Ambassador to India – Mr. Pham Sanh Chau shared: “Universities in Vietnam have made constant efforts to become a destination for students. This helps to reduce brain drain, attract foreign currency at home, and at the same time, improve the teaching capacity of teachers. Vietnam’s position in the education map of the world”.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Khac Cuong – Vice Rector UNDERSTANDING All teachers, staff and students of HIU will support and help international students quickly integrate into life and study in Vietnam. The talented young generation of India can have an interesting study and research experience at school and become physicians, bringing their talents and enthusiasm to serve the people of India.

This time, HIU will receive more than 20 Indian students medical school. These are excellent students who have passed the application and interview rounds of the Professional Council consisting of professors and doctorates in the fields of Health and International Languages ​​and Cultures of HIU. The selection period has taken place since December 2021.

Student Khushi Jai Prakash Asrani (India) shared that she was quite worried about the language difference and tried to practice Vietnamese before coming. However, before the friendliness of everyone, the female student felt happier and more confident.

“I learned a lot about the people, history and country of Vietnam before deciding to choose this place. I also compared the medical training of many countries to see that HIU’s policies are good. best with me,” added Khushi Jai Prakash Asrani.

Narmatha Natesan (India) also said that the reason for choosing to study Medicine in Vietnam is because of its safety and friendly people. According to Natesan, studying this major in India, students have to go through a lot of difficult exams.

Indian students will study Medicine at HIU under a training program entirely in English, implemented on the basis of the standard program of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. However, the school also has innovation akin to medical training programs of advanced countries in the world.

In addition to learning theoretical and clinical knowledge, international students also learn Vietnamese language and Vietnamese cultural features. Students can practice at the school’s function rooms, practice at hospitals that are medical institutions associated with the school such as: FV Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital… or learn in the community when participating in programs such as HIU Care – dental and eye exams for high school students.

The medical training program has a total duration of 6 years, graduates can participate in medical examination and treatment at hospitals and medical facilities; teaching at medical and pharmaceutical training institutions; Working in research institutes, health science regulatory agencies…

In order for Indian students to quickly integrate into the new educational environment, HIU has established the International Student Council; arrange dormitory, accommodation for students. In addition, HIU also invests in promoting practice facilities for health students, developing 12 basic medical practice rooms for 1st and 2nd year students; 60 specialized practice rooms for students from year 3 and up.

In addition, the university also invests in a 3D operating table system in medical training, which is one of the most modern medical tools today and is used by universities and medical colleges in many countries. At the same time, HIU is also very interested in taking care of the spiritual life of students by investing more than 10 billion VND in building complex sports areas, cultural and art activities, meeting the needs of comprehensive development.
