Humanitarian month to support poor fishermen to reach the sea and cling to the sea safely

Today (April 25), Central Vietnam Red Cross Society Information about the launching ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2022 with the theme “Community cohesion – Spreading acts of kindness”.

This year’s Humanitarian Month is started from May 1-31, culminating from May 8, in order to call on the community to unite with kind deeds, thereby spreading strongly and widely. multiplied into many beautiful actions, contributing to building a united and compassionate community.

Ms. Bui Thi Hoa – Central President of the Vietnam Red Cross Association said: The association sets a goal in the 2022 Humanitarian Month to mobilize VND 400 billion to help 1 million people in difficult circumstances. In which there are 100,000 humanitarian addresses (individuals and collectives), each province, city, association can organize at least 1 humanitarian work, part, program associated with humanitarian address, … with the participation. Direct support of leaders of Party committees, authorities, local departments, agencies and sectors, interested in early and remote warning activities.

Since 2018, after 4 years of launching Humanitarian Month, the Central Committee of the Word Association The Red Cross has raised a total amount of 1,513 billion VND, 44% higher than the average operating value in the months of the year. As a result, 3.3 million turns of poor and disadvantaged people have been helped.

Especially, at the Launching Ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2022, the Vietnam Red Cross Society launched 2 key programs to be implemented in the next 5 years, which are the Program: “Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen” and “Nutrition for poor and disabled children” in the entire Association system.

With the desire to call for and receive resources from the whole society to join hands to help poor and difficult fishermen safely reach out to sea, stick to the sea and support to improve nutrition for poor and disabled children. I fulfill my academic dreams and gradually change the quality of my life.

To kick off Humanitarian Month 2022, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society supports provinces and cities to organize Humanitarian Markets, donate the Fatherland Flag and support 14 provinces and cities in the Central region: 15,000 sets multi-purpose life jackets worth 22 billion VND, first aid bags and safe houses for fishermen worth 5 billion VND, support 17 billion VND for people affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

In 2022, the launching ceremony of Humanitarian Month and commemoration of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8) will be held at 8:00 p.m. on April 28, 2022 at the Cultural Center – Electricity of Vietnam. photos of Thua Thien Hue province, broadcast live on channel VTV2 (Vietnam Television Station), relayed on channel HTV1 (Ho Chi Minh City Television Station).
