While bathing, three young men were swept away by the current. Discovering the incident, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien (SN 1969, residing in Dong Hoa hamlet, Thanh Hoa commune) promptly swam to save the victims to safety.

Mr. Hien recounted: “As soon as I discovered that 3 young people had been stabbed by a bear (a sign of drowning – PV), I immediately rushed into the water to save them. After successfully saving the two children, the third grandchild was swept out. about 30 meters away, although I was very tired, I still tried to get out to save him to the shore.

When he was rescued, this young man appeared to be unconscious, his limbs began to turn purple. It took about 3-5 minutes of first aid, artificial respiration, chest compressions, and the young man regained consciousness. Fortunately, I was able to save the young people from drowning.”
