Extending the temporary detention of three defendants to expand the investigation of the Bong Lai Tinh That case

Recently, the Investigation Security Agency – Long An Provincial Police issued a decision to extend the detention period for three suspects including: Le Thanh Hoan Nguyen (32 years old), Le Thanh Nhat Nguyen (31 years old), and Le Thanh Trung Duong (27 years old). This is the second time the detention period has been extended for the three suspects, since the Investigation Security Agency received the case transferred by the Duc Hoa District Police from early March 2022.

Previously, in January 2022, the three defendants along with Mr. Le Tung Van (90 years old) were prosecuted for the crime of “abusing democratic freedoms to violate the interests of the State, organizations and individuals” according to regulations. defined in Article 331 of the 2015 Penal Code, amended and supplemented in 2017. Only Mr. Le Tung Van can be released on bail.
