Ly Hai was cleared of the 825 million lawsuit after 4 years-Star

On the afternoon of April 25 at the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City, the trial panel (Trial Council) gave its opinion on the song copyright dispute. Mother’s Burden between Ly Hai, musician Quach Beem (real name Doan Dong Duc) and poet Truong Minh Nhat.

Accordingly, the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City ruled that poet Truong Minh Nhat was the author and owner of the poem Mother’s Burdenand also the author, the owner of the lyrics Mother’s Burden. Nhat’s works are subject to copyright protection under the Intellectual Property Law. Therefore, the Court of First Instance declared that Quach Beem lost the lawsuit and had to pay 122.4 million VND to Mr. Truong Minh Nhat for illegally using the poem. Mother’s Burden to make music.

Ly Hai Company was determined by the Court to be a third party legally using the song “Ganh Me” and not infringing copyright.

Because of using the lyrics for the movie Flip 4: House With Guests Therefore, the Court asked Ly Hai company to edit and add poet Truong Minh Nhat’s name to the film information. The jury did not accept the author’s request for compensation of VND 825 million from Ly Hai Mother’s Burden.

The reason given is that the time when Ly Hai and Quach Beem’s company signed the contract, there was no copyright dispute; The musician has a copyright certificate for the song, so Ly Hai exploits and uses it without infringing the intellectual property rights of poet Truong Minh Nhat.

On his personal page, Ly Hai announced good news to fans. Accordingly, the male singer said: “Finally, after nearly 4 years, today, the first instance court also sentenced and recognized Ly Hai company to be honest, legally using the song Ganh Me and not infringing copyright.”. He expressed his thanks to the Trial Panel, lawyers, friends, relatives, fans who have always cared and supported his family.

Contacted Ly Hai, the representative said that he is focusing on writing the script for 6 . Flipdid not want to discuss this story further and did not comment on the decision of the Court of First Instance.
