Taking the doctor’s medical history from the family, before the accident, Ms. Bich T. used an iron tree to pick mangoes for her children. After picking the first fruit, she moved to pick the second fruit close to the power line. When she was raising the iron rod, suddenly the electric current shot down, causing her to collapse on the spot.

The victim was given first aid at the scene, then transferred to a local hospital for emergency treatment and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital. Dr. Ngo Duc Hiep, Head of the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery said: “Female patient suffered electrical burns and sparks of 32% of the entire body area (degrees 2, 3 and 4). The most severely burned areas are the extremities, neck, and buttocks of the patient. In particular, the state of electric burns caused the patient’s limbs to die of muscle and bone.”

Doctors have tried to actively treat the patient in the hope of preserving what part of the patient’s limb will be good. However, the electric burn is so severe that the patient’s limbs cannot recover.

To avoid the risk of necrosis leading to life-threatening infection, on April 13, the surgical team had to amputate a third of the patient’s forearm on both sides. Next, on April 16, doctors continued to cut off one third of the patient’s left leg, and on April 20, the patient’s right leg had to be amputated.

From a completely healthy person, a tragic accident occurred that made the disabled patient completely lose the ability to move, unable to take care of themselves. On the hospital bed, Ms. Bich T. choked: “I have three young children, one of which has cerebral palsy. Until now, I worked as a worker to raise children, my husband went to sell fruit to help, now I have no limbs, I don’t know how to raise children.
