Collecting more than 800 million dong of tax from YouTube channel owner

Previously, through reviewing and understanding the situation, Dam Ha District Police discovered that Mr. Doan Van Thai was the owner of the YouTube channel TC TV, showing signs of not declaring and paying taxes. During his work, Mr. Thai admitted that he had not fulfilled his tax payment obligations, and also provided the authorities with documents related to income from YouTube channels and advertising for 4 years (2018 – 2018). 2022), with a total amount of more than 11 billion VND.

According to the regulations, individuals who receive income from organizations such as Facebook, Google, YouTube… are classified as business individuals. According to current regulations, if the income from business is 100 million VND a year or more, it must pay tax. The tax rate is 7% on income (including 5% value added tax, 2% personal income tax).

Accordingly, the Quang Ninh Tax Department invited Mr. Thai to work to determine the amount to be paid. Specifically, Mr. Thai has to pay two taxes, including: Value-added tax on domestically produced goods of VND 595 million; Business income tax from personal activities 215 million.

Immediately after the discovery and handling of the above case, the Quang Ninh Tax Department also asked the local Sub-Departments to strengthen the review of YouTuber, Facebook channel owners … to take tax management measures according to regulations.
