Dong Nai memorializes 28 martyrs of the Forest Sac commando
The remains of 28 martyrs in the mass grave in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district, were identified as soldiers of the 10th Division – Rung Sac Special Forces in the past.
On the morning of April 27, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province held a memorial ceremony, buried and brought the remains of martyrs in the mass grave in Phuoc An commune to the martyrs cemetery of Nhon Trach district, with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister. Vu Duc Dam.

Earlier on March 12, while digging a shrimp pond, people discovered two remains of martyrs, so they reported it to the authorities. The military command of Dong Nai province later found 26 other remains, all buried in the mass pit. Many memorabilia of the soldiers were found such as hammocks, rubber sandals, pens, notebooks…
Through witnesses who fought in the locality and historical evidence, the authorities determined that the above remains were soldiers of the 10th Division – Special Forces of the Forest of Sac.

According to veterans, during the resistance war against the US, Rung Sac and Nhon Trach district had many fierce battles between the army and the enemy. Many people who died in Rung Sac were buried in Bau Bong area, Phuoc An commune.
