Plow the field to dig gold, second shock when it is an extremely rare 3,300-year treasure-Travel

A farmer in Çorum, Turkey had a “big hit” when he dug a golden ring while plowing the field, even more surprised when it was a priceless treasure from an ancient civilization 3,300 years ago.

A plowman in the village of Çitli, Mecitözü district of Çorum province, discovered the bracelet by accident. Realizing it was too beautiful, old, and doubtful of historical value, he brought it to the Çorum Museum.

Experts from the museum determined it was a treasure from the Hittite civilization that once reigned in ancient Turkey, according to the Daily Sabah.

Archaeologist Resul Ibiş from the Çorum Museum said: ‘After initial assessments, we found this to be an unprecedented piece, we have never seen anything like this before.

According to Ancient Origins, although it has been deformed and lost some parts, the bracelet dating from the 13th century BC still gives a lot of interesting information about the Hittite civilization. Very few artifacts from this ancient civilization have survived.

The bracelet is elaborately crafted from gold, silver, copper and nickel, decorated with signature Hittile symbols. The gold side of the bracelet depicts the goddess Hurrian Šauška and her servants.

Šauška is the goddess of love and war revered by the Hittites. The people of this ancient civilization believed that she was also able to cast spells to help heal and restore health.

The reason the necklace bears her image lying in an ancient Hittite field is because the Hurrians had a profound influence on the Hittite empire, even then assimilated into the Iron Age.
