The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) said the health watchdog discovered the problem during a routine inspection of imported products by the Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The recall affects 60 tons of ground beef produced by Lakeside Refrigerated Services in Swedesboro, New Jersey, between April 1 and April 8.

These products were shipped to retailers nationwide. The recall may affect ground beef products nationwide.

Due to concerns that beef contaminated with E. coli may remain in consumers’ refrigerators, FSIS recommends that customers who have purchased the product refrain from using it.
