Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo – the guys who made Avengers: Endgame successful, this movie brings together a talented cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Regé-Jean Page. The work will officially premiere on Netflix from Friday, July 22.
The Gray Man is a former CIA agent named Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka the Sierra Six. Once a cold-blooded assassin with deadly skills, Gentry is saved from a federal prison sentence and recruited by his manager, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton). But now, the situation has changed when Six becomes the target of assassination, being chased across the globe by former CIA colleague Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) at the CIA – who does not use any means to capture Six. . To survive, Six will need the help of agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas).
“The Invisible Agent is an extremely mysterious character with a secret past. You can think of him as a ghost,” the Russo brothers told Netflix’s Tudum site. “A minimalist, with his job hidden right in front of him. He kills when he needs to, and then disappears.”
This is also why Ryan Gosling is the perfect choice. “Ryan really excels at conveying so much through a single eye or gesture,” the two directors added. “The character’s inner self is expressed in the most subtle and sublime way. He also has great physical control. He is basically an Invisible Agent (except for the killing item).”
The Russo brothers also have a long history of working with Chris Evans – from 2 blockbusters Captain America and the Avengers movie series. However, they were very decisive when choosing this “former superhero” guy as the villain in The Gray Man.
“Chris is one of the most technically gifted actors we’ve worked with. He’s highly trained. This allows him to take great risks as an artist, ” confirmed the two directors. “He’s very knowledgeable about human behavior, so every action – whether he’s playing Captain America or a mad ex-CIA agent – is emotionally real.”
In addition, actors Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters and Alfre Woodard also star in this action thriller. The Gray Man is officially released on July 22.
