Audi recalls Q5 series of cars to replace steering wheel airbags in Vietnam

Audi has just issued a recall information for 301 Q5 vehicles with years of production from 2009 to 2012 to replace the airbag on the steering wheel.

Recently, Audi Vietnam has just announced the recall of genuine imported Q5 cars in the 2009-2012 period to replace the steering wheel airbag. In this batch, a total of 301 units are involved and need to be replaced. During the research, Audi AG discovered on a number of Audi car Q5 with TAKATA steering wheel airbag manufactured for a specific period, it is possible that the air pump unit is damaged if the driver airbag is impacted. This may cause minor injury to the driver and passengers in the vehicle.

For reasons of maximum safety for customers using vehicles, Audi AG requires all official importers to check the list of related and recalled vehicles for inspection. Audi Vietnam decided to recall all possibly affected Audi Q5 cars manufactured from 2009 to 2012 that are imported and officially distributed in Vietnam market for inspection and replacement.

The above Audi models were still operating safely until the time of inspection. Audi Vietnam confirmed that the number of vehicles sold in the Vietnamese market that are subject to the recall is 301 units. All of these vehicles will be inspected and remedied in accordance with the announced recall program.

Audi official distributor in Vietnam – Lien A International Joint Stock Company is currently contacting each affected Audi owner directly. The inspection and repair time is 1 hour for each vehicle and it is completely free. In addition, all Audi customers can now check whether their vehicle is subject to the recall directly on the company’s website by entering the vehicle’s chassis number.

For non-genuinely distributed vehicles subject to the recall announced by AUDI AG, the responsibility for the recall basically rests with the importers. However, Audi Vietnam is ready to assist customers in contacting Audi AG and performing inspection and reinforcement upon approval from Audi AG (this process also applies to imported vehicles in the form of asset removal). or Diplomatic vehicles)

The recall program will take place from April 25, 2022 to April 25, 2025 and has been registered with the Vietnam Register to coordinate monitoring. Audi Vietnam regrets the inconvenience brought to customers and will try to complete the recall in the shortest time.
