During the interview, the employer asked me if I had a car

When I graduated from college, I got a job. Before that, I studied international economics at a quite famous university. But then I felt no interest, no passion for jobs related to economics, so I temporarily put my degree aside. During my time at the University, I joined the club, took on the role of media. Therefore, I also know how to shoot clips, edit photos…

While my parents kept advising me to pursue economics to save money for 4 years of university, I switched completely to the field of communication and marketing. I even learned by myself to improve my editing skills. However, there is one point where I am inferior to others in this profession, that is, my family background is not well-off.

In the past, in order to pay for tuition and some pocket money, I had to work hard as a tutor, get more design jobs, and edit clips. Even filming the club’s clips, I also had to borrow the camera of other friends from richer families. It wasn’t until later, when I had accumulated an amount, that I dared to invest in a camera because I thought it was a tool to help me make money. But I feel guilty, because I feel sorry for myself when I look at other people in the same industry.

After graduating from college, I went to work in a few places, but everyone was rich, using good cameras, expensive computers, iPads, driving new cars and living a luxurious lifestyle. It was as if I was lost in the world of marketing communications. Having no economic support, but not many relationships, promotion and applying for jobs at the company My adult had many difficulties.

I still work hard in the hope that one day, I will be rewarded. And then life turned to an exciting new page when I entered my current company. But that comes with a lot of pressure.

It’s a well-known media company, specializing in the production of viral TVC videos, roughly advertising production. I applied for a job in the filming – editing department, and also planned to produce viral videos. The salary here is quite high, and it’s close to home, and they want to hire quickly, so I have the ambition that I will be accepted.

Before the day of the interview, I sent the employer to see the products and projects I have worked on in the past. They did not respond, just said they came to interview at the company. In the interview room, there was an HR lady, another brother worked in the filming – editing segment, a little later the leader of the whole department arrived.

At first, people just asked me basic questions, and asked what kind of machine I used. I answer honestly that the camera I use is a bit old, but I hope the company can provide more tools. The most surprising thing was that after the leader entered the room, Ms. HR asked me directly: “Do you have a car?”

I found this sentence a bit strange, stammering and replying: “No”. Next, Ms. HR said in a cold tone: “Then if I go to work, I have to suffer a lot, because sometimes I will have to go to a few places to shoot, and the company can’t support too much in terms of travel expenses. If I ride a motorbike, I’m afraid it’s a waste of money. The furniture will be messy, making it difficult for me to move around. Previously, 2 former camera-builders who used to work both had cars, and they moved very quickly.”

My face was scared, I can’t ask for anything, but if I ask about cars, I definitely can’t. But the turning point happened when the leader looked at the clips I had made. He say: “It’s okay, sister, I can take care of her in this case, she’s still young, she can’t have a car. Wherever I go, I’ll be in charge of accompanying her.”

I breathed a sigh of relief, everything went like a dream. After that interview, I was accepted as a full-time employee. Indeed, because of the nature of the job, I often have to move to the suburbs to shoot clips. At times like that, my boss always took me away, both to support the staff, and to monitor the filming progress.

However, my heart is worried. Because my boss is 30 years old, single, unmarried, and has been taking care of me lately. For example, he will prepare breakfast and lunch during long filming days. Moreover, he also drove me home, asked thoughtfully and thoughtfully. Is he in love with me? If he really wants to help, I’d appreciate it. But when it comes to love, I’ll be extremely confused and awkward…
