Is it possible to reclaim the field that was sold by her sister-in-law 20 years ago?

More than 20 years ago, my family moved to the South to live, sending all the houses, fields and gardens to my brother and his wife to keep.

At the end of last year, my wife and I intended to go back to our hometown to rebuild our house, and then stay outside, so we asked our brother and his wife to get the house back. Only then did we know that the sister-in-law had sold a field of more than 540 m2.

After researching, I learned that the District People’s Committee has updated the name for someone else since 2002 without my wife’s opinion. When I went to the buyer’s house to inquire, I learned that they had already sold it to someone else.

My sister-in-law said that because at that time, she needed money to take care of her children to go abroad to work, so she sold my wife’s field. Now this land has been sold to many people, I don’t know how to get it back.

Should I denounce or sue my sister-in-law and her husband to sell their fields arbitrarily as well as irresponsible authorities when updating the land name to someone else? Will I get my field back? (Thanh Ha)
