Immediately after receiving the above information, functional units of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Public Security stepped in and verified that the above phone number was registered in the name of a person with an address in Kien Giang, but currently in Ho Chi Minh City. This person confirmed that others used his information to register the above subscriber information.

“This picture is my photo, but not my portrait, not my signature. And I have verified that I do not use these two subscriber numbers,” said the person whose personal information was impersonated. .

A representative of telecommunications business Vietnammobile said that the SIM activation above came from an employee’s account working in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the authorities, not only this scam phone number, 1,000 other phone numbers were also activated by this account with the victim’s personal information between November 2019 and January 2020.

“That account is my account, because I’ve only used one account since then, that’s my user, my name. At that time, I was the right person to go. Lots of points. I can’t remember now,” said Vietnammobile SIM activation staff.
