Ford Ranger pickup truck far ahead of rivals in the first quarter of 2022

The pickup truck market still shows its inherent excitement, but the joy is not for the majority when Vietnamese users turn to the Ford Ranger more. A car from the US with a modern, muscular design, along with the leading price in the segment.

However, that does not make the attraction of the Ford Ranger cool down, this model still has the best sales in the pickup segment.

According to sales statistics from members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), by the end of the first quarter of 2022, the total sales of pickup trucks reached 5,295 vehicles with the presence of 5 models including: including: Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT50, Isuzu D-Max.

According to VAMA, the number of pickup trucks sold was 4.6% of the total sales volume of the entire Vietnamese automobile market in the first quarter of 2022.

In which, Ford Ranger led the sales when 3,158 vehicles were delivered to customers in the first 3 months of the year, while the remaining 4 competitors accumulated only 2,137 vehicles delivered to users.

Specifically, January 2022, Ford Ranger accounted for 43.6%, February was 34.7% and March was 74.9% of the pickup truck market share and accounted for 59.6% market share in the whole first quarter of the year.

The above sales represent the absolute dominance of the model from the US and in the future, this position is expected to remain unchanged when there is no opponent capable of fighting Ranger in Vietnam.

Ford Ranger “hardly” changes the most in the pickup segment

Although sales are unmatched, but Ford Ranger is still a car line that regularly receives upgrades and improvements of the American brand. In the past time, the Ford Ranger has continuously made slight changes from appearance to origin from imported to locally assembled, while the competitors are still silent.

In particular, the all-new generation Ford Ranger is expected to reach Vietnamese customers by the end of this year. This model is considered a “hot commodity” when receiving great expectations from the domestic user community.

Accordingly, from January 1, 2021, new manufactured, assembled and imported cars must apply Euro5 emission standards according to Decision No. 49/2011/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Thus, it can be seen that the Ford Ranger still has good sales, but this is still the most improved “hard-working” car in Vietnam with the new generation about to appear. This will help the pickup from the US continue to leave its competitors behind in the race to the “king” of sales in Vietnam.
