VN-Index broke the circuit to gain points
The market this morning witnessed the morning session fluctuate around reference. VN-Index then turned green slightly. Towards the end of the session, the gaining momentum narrowed and the index also reversed and dropped slightly. This morning’s liquidity was similar to yesterday’s, showing weak demand and still cautious about the current trend.
Specifically, developments by industry group. In oil and gas group, GAS pillar dropped 2.7%, while the rest of the group was still trading positively with TDG up 2.75%, followed by OIL up nearly 1%.

Banking group this morning also had many losers, putting pressure on the market, including: VCB down 1.6%, TPB down over 2% and VIB down 1.4%.
VIB has just announced the first quarter business results, recorded a pre-tax profit of nearly 2,300 billion dong, up 26% over the same period. Total income reached more than 4,100 billion VND.
VIB’s credit growth reached 6.1%, outstanding loans were nearly 217,000 billion dong, capital mobilization reached 302,000 billion dong. Profit growth comes from focusing on high-quality retail credit portfolio, minimizing risk with nearly 90% retail lending portfolio and 95% secured assets.
Cheap capital also helped VIB maintain low mobilization costs, contributing to the profit result of nearly VND 2,300 billion in the first quarter.
Morning session pause, VN-Index down 6.25 points or -0.46% to 1,347.52 points. There were 221 gainers, 209 losers and 52 steady stocks on the whole floor. Traded nearly 300 million shares, equivalent to more than VND 7,653 billion.
HNX-Index increased 1.8 points (0.5%) to 358.89 points. The whole floor had 123 gainers, 75 losers and 49 standstill stocks. Traded more than 54 million shares, equivalent to nearly 1,200 billion dong.
