This is the result of the investigation into the case plane crash above.

Egypt Airlines plane EgyptAir MS804 crashed into the Mediterranean Sea between Crete and the northern coast of Egypt in May 2016, killing 66 passengers and crew.

The Airbus A320 plane crashed while flying from Paris (France) to Cairo (Egypt), in which the Egyptian authorities claimed, the crash was caused by terrorism.

However, an investigation found that a fire broke out in the cockpit due to oxygen released from the copilot’s mask while he was smoking. Cigarettes can burn oxygen.

Three days before the plane crashed, the pilot’s mask was replaced and the maintenance engineer put it on “emergency” instead of “normal”, allowing oxygen to be released.

Italy’s Corriere Della Sera newspaper reported that they had reviewed a 134-page investigation document prepared by French experts and sent to the Paris Court of Appeal.

According to reports, Egyptian pilots regularly smoke on the plane, just two months earlier, the ashtray in the same plane needs to be replaced.

With oxygen fueling combustion inside the cockpit, the fire is believed to have been triggered by a “spark or flame”.

The document also mentions cockpit voice recordings that show the pilots saying “both were tired from this night’s flight and from lack of sleep”, but experts say, the time to rest “respect for both,” newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported.
