The Vietnamese wrestling team is determined to be number one at the 31st SEA Games

Currently, the teams of the Vietnam Sports Delegation are in the intensive training phase to prepare to compete at the 31st SEA Games and so is the wrestling team. Target of Vietnam wrestling team is to win the first place of the whole team at the 31st SEA Games at home.

Mr. Ta Tung Duc – In charge of Wrestling (General Department of Physical Education and Sports) said: “The players are asked to focus, not to be influenced from outside, especially social networks. SEA Games 31 is close, so we want to put the professional element first.”

The Vietnamese wrestling team registered to participate in all 18 weight classes of the 31st SEA Games in the men’s classical wrestling, men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle events. The list of players competing in the 31st SEA Games has been selected according to the professional criteria as well as the capacity assessment from the Coaching Board for each individual.

Mr. Ta Tung Duc said, the selection of players to compete is completely fair and transparent, open to experts. However, winning at the 31st SEA Games is not easy because many participating countries also invest in this sport. The coaching board said that it will be based on the actual situation to have a reasonable match as well as adjust for each player.

SEA Games 31 will take place from May 12 to 23, 2022 in Vietnam with 40 sports (526 competitions) to be held in Hanoi and 11 neighboring cities and provinces. This is the second SEA Games that Vietnam has hosted, after the first time in 2003. The Games were attended by 11 Southeast Asian sports delegations, organizing 40 competitions with 526 contents.

At the 31st SEA Games, the Vietnam Sports Delegation has 1,341 members, including nearly 1,000 athletes. This is the largest number since the first time Vietnamese Sports appeared in this arena.
