YouTube decided to hide the Dislike counter at the end of 2021, and it looks like they are continuing to test a similar change for Likes on videos.
Many YouTube users noticed that the like count was no longer in its usual place and was instead moved to the video’s description.
However, not all users see the Like in the new location, most still see it in the old location, so it seems that this test has only been applied by YouTube to some accounts.
Besides, it seems that YouTube does not have a plan to completely hide Likes like it did with Dislikes, Likes are basically not lost, but just moved from an easily visible position right below the video to a hard-to-see position. more in the description.
So far, all reports from users say that the change is only appearing on the mobile version of YouTube. YouTube has yet to make an announcement on the matter.
