Both grandma and granddaughter were married to Qian Long, one became the queen, the other had a pitiful end?

Since feudal times, it was a very glorious thing for families to let their descendants enter the palace to be the emperor’s concubine. In particular, it is not uncommon for families to let their descendants enter the palace to become the emperor’s concubine.

When becoming the emperor’s concubine, not only the status of the clans was further strengthened, but also greatly rewarded. During the Qing Dynasty, the Phu Sat family had two people entering the palace, both of whom were accepted for Qian Long, but one became the queen, the other had to live a dreary life. Who are these two?

The concubine was favored and became the queen

The Phu Sat family originated from the Northeast, Kien Chau. Ancestor Vuong Cat No surrendered to Thanh Thai To No Harxi at the end of the Ming Dynasty. Phu Sat was a family that accomplished many great feats and received the emperor’s respect in the court. During the reign of Emperor Taiji, Vuong Cat No’s grandson, Cap Thap Trun, used to be the chief minister in the ceremony.

During Kangxi’s reign, Mi Si Han, son of Cap Thap Trun, worked at the Thuong Thu Department of Ho, with a very prominent position. After Yongzheng ascended to the throne, Mi Tu Han’s sons Ma Si Ha, Ly Vinh Bao and others were all conferred with the title. In 1727, Ung Chinh planned for Crown Prince Hoang Lich to marry Phu Sat Thi, daughter of Ly Vinh Bao. Phu Sat Thi is beautiful, fluent in Chinese, knowledgeable about music, and dignified, so many people praise her.

Empress Phu Sat Thi was greatly favored by Qian Long.

After marrying Hoang Lich, Phu Sat Thi assumed the responsibility of managing the Eastern Palace. In 1735, after Ung Chinh’s death, Hoang Lich ascended the throne to take the title of Qian Long, and Phu Sat Thi at this time became the empress governing the six palaces. Knowing that the harem is not allowed to interfere in political affairs, she resolves conflicts between the concubines very fairly.

In less than a year, seeing that Phu Sat Thi ruled the six palaces well, Qian Long fell in love with her even more. Therefore, her first child, Vinh Lien, was also pampered by Qian Long. When he was a child, he was crowned crown prince.

However, this crown prince unfortunately passed away when he was only 9 years old. A few years later, the queen gave birth to a son, considered a treasure by Qianlong, but before he was 1 year old, he fell ill and died. Because of the death of her son, the empress fell ill with grief. In 1748, during a tour of the East week with Qianlong and his concubines, she unfortunately caught a cold and died.

The granddaughter has to suffer a dreary life

The death of the empress caused the Qianlong emperor to grieve for a long time. In 1796, Qian Long ceded the throne to his 15th son, Vinh Diem, took the title Gia Khanh, became Thai Thuong Hoang, but still kept the main power in the court.

In 1798, when Gia Khanh recruited beautiful women into the palace as concubines, the Phu Sat clan wanted to receive the favor of the new emperor, so they chose an excellent daughter in the family to enter the palace. The chosen daughter is the granddaughter of Empress Phu Sat.

This young concubine had to live alone for the rest of her life.

Gia Khanh understands what the Phu Sat family wants. However, he saw that the position of the Phu Sat family was inherently very noble, if there was an additional queen or noble concubine, it would make other clans dissatisfied, easy to cause conflicts between the court and other clans. .

Therefore, Gia Khanh recommended the concubine to Qian Long and conferred the title of Tan Quy Nhan. At this time, Qianlong was 88 years old, he was too old and weak to pay attention to the new concubine. Not long after, Qian Long died, although Tan Quy Nhan was young, he had to live a lonely and dreary life for the rest of his life.

It can be said that marrying into the palace was the wish of many ancient women. But as we can see, not always being married to the palace, life is good. The harem has thousands of concubines. Therefore, if one concubine is happy, there will be thousands of other concubines who are estranged.
