Boy cancels wedding because girl almost killed pet dog

Bloke, 28, was furious with his girlfriend, 27, after she fed her 7-year-old dog chocolate and alcohol. He decided to end a 4-year relationship due to her carelessness, but both sides’ families completely disagree with this decision.

The story began last Saturday, April 23, when Bloke’s girlfriend held a bachelor party at her house. Because his girlfriend liked this dog, Bloke brought it over and left the dog, and told him to bring the dog into their bedroom when the party started to avoid noise.

“At 5 a.m. the next morning, I got a call that something was wrong with the dog. She was still drunk so I told her to take a taxi to the emergency veterinary hospital,” Bloke recalls. “When I got there, she looked like she had been crying for hours and couldn’t even speak. Her two friends were there and they told me the dog was alive but unwell.”

But later, the doctor said the dog had consumed a large amount of alcohol and chocolate.

Bloke was furious that his girlfriend hadn’t followed instructions to keep the dog away from the party, instead letting him eat so much that he was poisoned.

He continued: “When we got home, I told her to pack up and leave the house and out of my life. She was shocked, but she took her things and left.”

“Two hours later, I was attacked by Messenger, Whatsapp messages from my sister, brother, brother’s wife, her mother, her friends. They told me I was crazy to do this to her after four years,” Bloke said.

People started defending the girl, some even started insulting Bloke. Even his friends and family disagreed with his actions. All thought it was an overreaction.

Bloke tries to explain that she has done things that are careless and potentially dangerous in the past. So he was concerned that she might cause even more damage in the future.

He ended by saying, “I’m 99% sure I won’t change my mind. But I really don’t understand when no one is on my side.”

Reddit members were quick to comment on this shocking breakup.

One said: “It’s not about the dog. It’s about blatant disregard for animal safety and ignoring that guy’s requests. It was her negligence that was the problem.”

While another concurred: “I mean, with this level of carelessness, in 10 years, who knows, it won’t be their dog but their kid.”

Bloke posted an update a few days after the incident. “She was sloppy and irresponsible,” he said. And I don’t want to continue this relationship because maybe one day our baby will die in a car accident when she’s driving while texting or forgetting to fasten his seat belt.”

“I think I don’t want to spend my life with someone who has such a blatant disregard for human (or animal) life.”
