Eliminating 5 players, Coach Park closed the shortlist to prepare for the 31st SEA Games
Today (April 30), Coach Park Hang-seo announced a shortlist of 25 Vietnamese U23 players for the final preparation phase before the 31st SEA Games.
The three goalkeepers selected for the list are Nguyen Van Toan, Quan Van Chuan, and Trinh Xuan Hoang.
The defenders shortlisted by Coach Park are Luong Duy Cuong, Phan Tuan Tai, Le Van Xuan, Vu Tien Long, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Le Van Do, Dang Van Lam, Nguyen Thanh Binh, and Nham Manh Dung.
In addition, coach Park Hang-seo also selected 6 midfielders, including Hai Long, Dung Quang Nho, Ly Cong Hoang Anh, Duc Viet, Cong De and Trong Long.
Shortlist of 25 Vietnamese U23 players
Strikers Nguyen Van Tung, Tran Van Dat, Ho Thanh Minh and Le Xuan Tu are also on the short list of Mr. Park.
Three over-age players of U23 Vietnam, Hung Dung, Hoang Duc and Tien Linh also attended. From the list above, Coach Park will eliminate 5 more players. According to the provisions of the Charter, at the technical meeting on May 5, U23 Vietnam will finalize the official registration list of 20 players and 1 backup goalkeeper.
The identities of the five players who remained in Hanoi were also revealed, including defenders Doan Anh Viet, Nguyen Van Viet, Dang Van Toi, midfielder Tran Bao Toan and striker Bui Vi Hao. Injuries that did not recover in time for the 31st SEA Games have also been identified, including defenders Tran Quang Thinh, Lieu Quang Vinh and striker Mai Xuan Quyet.
Tonight (April 30), U23 Vietnam will move to Phu Tho to enter the final training phase before the 31st SEA Games.
Players who are not included in the list of SEA Games 31 will be kept at the VFF youth training center to continue practicing, in case there is a case of COVID-19 infection arising during the tournament.
