Who was the predictor for Qianlong?

The story is about Tri Thien Bao, one of the prison texts of the Qing Dynasty. He went through the books and calculated the lifespan of the Qianlong.

After that, he continued to study books and calculate how long the Qing Dynasty lasted. Tri Thien Bao was not a deep learner, but he used his own heresies to write freely about the fate of the Qing Dynasty and the longevity of the Qianlong.

Tri Thien Bao also published a book called “Heaven determines Dai Thanh’s destiny”. In his book, he wrote that: “The Qing dynasty has a destiny of 800 years, moreover the Qianlong emperor has a life expectancy of 80 years”.

In order to make his judgments more convincing and want to benefit himself, Tri Thien Bao also said that those words were due to the ancestors about the dream. Moreover, he also said that he was the one chosen by ‘God’ to inform Qianlong about this.

After finishing writing the book, Tri Thien Bao immediately told his disciples that he wanted to present the book to the emperor. He thought that if the book he wrote was offered, it would definitely make the emperor happy and he would be rewarded a lot.

On the way to the capital, knowing that Qianlong was leaving the capital, they changed their plans to where the emperor was going. When he arrived, Tri Thien Bao was not young at that time, his health was not good, so he let his disciples go to offer books to the Qianlong emperor. Tri Thien Bao at home thought that he would be rewarded by the emperor, but unexpectedly, as soon as his disciples offered the book, Qian Long sent someone to arrest him. Tri Thien Bao was also arrested.

Why did Qianlong order beheading?

Although in the book Tri Thien Bao wrote countless beautiful words to talk about Qianlong and the Qing Dynasty, it is because of the sentence “The Qing dynasty has a destiny of 800 years, moreover the Qianlong emperor has a long life to come. 80 years old” made Qian Long very angry. Maybe for Tri Thien Bao, 800 years is a long time, and Qian Long living 80 years old is a very long time.

But for Qianlong, he always hopes that he can live as long as the chants of the gods “long live, long live”, not just 80 years. Moreover, for the emperor’s ambition, it is absolutely impossible to be satisfied with the fate of the Qing dynasty of only 800 years.

After Qian Long showed the mandarins and martial arts officials in the court to see the book that Tri Thien Bao wrote, they all assumed that this person had a different intention. After investigating, they discovered that Tri Thien Bao and his disciples wrote books only for the purpose of flattery to be rewarded. Qianlong then ordered the beheading of Tri Thien Bao and his disciples in front of the people as a warning. And Tri Thien Bao’s wife became a slave to work hard for the rest of her life.
