Temporarily suspending the teacher who slapped a 10th grade male student

According to the newspaper Youthon the afternoon of April 29, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training Nghe An said the department has directed Bac Yen Thanh High School, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province, to strictly handle the incident of teachers with violent behavior when punishing students.

Right after that, Bac Yen Thanh High School issued a decision to temporarily suspend work for 15 days for teachers who slap students, and at the same time coordinate with family take the student to the examination and treatment.

Specifically, in period 4, a male student in class 10D3 was using a cell phone in class when his subject teacher found out. After that, the teacher informed the secretary of the school union, Mr. Ho Van Lich. When solving the matter, Mr. Lich slapped this male student.

After the incident, the school went to the student’s home to visit, encourage and coordinate with the family to handle the incident. According to the family, in the afternoon, the family took the student to be examined at Yen Thanh General Hospital and concluded that the eardrum was perforated.

The same night, the school and his family took the male student for a health check-up at Cua Dong General Hospital. After examining, the doctor concluded: There is no damage in other areas (except for the eardrum has been concluded), there is no bleeding in the ear.

In addition, the standing board of the school’s parents’ representative board visited and encouraged students as well as inquired about the family’s aspirations to cooperate in handling the matter. Mr. Lich also visited and encouraged students and their families.

The leader of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that he will clearly show the incident and strictly handle the teacher who has an act of slapping students. In the immediate future, the Department requires the school to coordinate with the family to stabilize the psychology and treat the male student well.
