Visitors to Hanoi on holidays: ‘Seems like torture’

HanoiOn the first day of the holiday, the parks in the city were packed, many people were tired and lost time because of queuing and people-watching.

At 8:30 am on April 30, after half an hour of driving, mother and daughter Le Tu Linh, in Hoang Mai, Hanoi reached Bao Son Paradise Park. What made her overwhelmed was that the traffic was scattered along both sides of the road, in the parking lot, and in front of a long line of people queuing to buy tickets.

After waiting in line for nearly 30 minutes to buy tickets and enter the gate, Ms. Linh continued to be frustrated because every game had a long line of people, waiting for about 20 minutes before it was her turn. The aquarium tunnel was also crowded with people, making the mother and daughter move step by step and find it suffocating and difficult to breathe.

Restaurants and eateries along the park are also full, many people have been waiting for 30 minutes and still have not been served. Crowds of people sat on stone benches and lawns to eat pre-prepared meals, or buy groceries. Linh said that until noon, she had to continue to queue to buy tickets to exchange food. The sun was hot and tired, so the mother and daughter went out to eat snacks and then returned.

“The first time I went to a holiday but met a crowd of people like ants, and the heat and fatigue like torture. I will never go to a holiday again,” Linh said.

Similar to Ms. Linh, Mr. Thanh Truong, in Cau Giay also encountered the situation of “looking at people” in Thu Le park. He said that this year, he had been monitoring information that the gateways of Hanoi were congested, so he decided not to return to his hometown, taking his two young children with his wife to play in the city.

“Even though it was early, there was still a lot of crowd, the flow of people filling the small road of the park, wanting to see animals or feed them had to stand very far and wait a long time to take their turn. Playgrounds such as trains, There were people on the swings. Because we were tired, we all left early,” he said.
